Just got off the Liberty on a 7 day cruise. Awesome is the best word to describe it. This was our 14th Carnival Cruise and we love the changes. Guy's Burgers were the best. The Red Frog Rum Bar and the Iguana Bar are both great additions to the pool area. They had a different guy who plays live music throughout the day from both bars switching off every hour. This is much better than all the games that they use to play. They did have a few, but not like they use to. The only complaint that we had was there was no music to be had between 6:00 & 7:00 unless you were at the pool deck.
We can't say much for the food in the dinning room, but that seems to be the case fleet wide any more in our opinion. When we first started cruising the food was to die for, now, not so much. We dined in the steakhouse which was delicious, we highly recommend it.
We went to San Juan, and if you are interested go to the Barcardi Distillery. It is very interesting, but don't take the tour, it costs way to much. We got on the ferry for .50 cents each and then took a cab for $3.00 per person. Round trip cost for 2, $7.00 and the tour is free. Margaritaville, in Grand Turk is a lot of fun, but you have to like the sun, not much else to do there.
As for embarkation, I can see why other reviewers were upset. Luckily we are VIP so we went around all of that, but I am sure it took those people a very long time to get through the long lines.
All in all this is a great ship. I would go on it again. I look forward to the 2.0 upgrades on all the ships.

Our cruise was our 6th with Carnival, and once again we received great value and a great time. VIP embarkation went well, and our cabin was ideal. More important than the cabin, was our cabin steward who took care of the special needs of my wife who needs to keep medication with her that is refigerated and provided us with ice packs to put in our bags for our journey home.
Meals in the Lido deck, the Deli and the Pizza place more than took care of us during the day and dinner in the maid dining room was great. A more than reasonable selection that was served well. The dining room staff not only took care of serving us, but did so in a fun way as well as providing some great entertainment as well.
Our ports: Cozumel, Rotan, Belize, and the Cayman Islands, were fun and gave us an opportunity to shop as well as snorkel and meet some local people and sample some of the local crafts.
If there was glitch it was with the coupon book we purchased as part of shopping at the different ports. Several of the coupons were no longer usable and several of the free gifts were no longer available and according to the merchants had not been available for several weeks. Brook our cruise shopping guide should have let us know about this!
Debarkation also went well and made sure that a great trip did not get caught up in long lines at the terminal.
Thanks Carnival for a great cruise, but do talk to the cruise shopping director.

This was my first ever cruise and I went with my mother and sister. Never being on a cruise the Liberty was huge, we constantly were getting lost, which wasn't helped with the stairs and elevators not connecting all the floors. A few times we had to walk through the golden dining room to get to the other side and enter.
The embarkation process went very quickly, we got to the terminal around 10:30, after an early morning 3 hour flight. We went through security and got our zone card then waited for zone 18 to be called. This went very quickly and we were on board and having lunch by 12:30.
The Food in general was ok. Many nights we didn't like what was being served in the dining room, especially my sister who only eats chicken, no other meat, so we headed to the buffet which often times was very similar. Breakfasts were very good and filling getting us through the day. My only other complaint besides variety and flavour would be the hours. We'd come back from an excursion on shore and more often than not many places were closed and we'd either have to settle for the 24 hour pizza or wait until the dinner buffet/ dining room opened. In fact I wasn't able to try the sushi bar, until the last sea day and the burritos until or disembarkation day. I was never able to try Guys burgers, omelet station, fish n' chips, or the Mongolian wok.
The staff we loved, our room steward, Paul was excellent. Our room was always clean and he was always so friendly, asking us about our plans for the day and how the previous day had gone. Our towel animals was one of the highlights of the cruise because of Paul, some days we came back to the room with an extra baby animal, as well as a new one later in the night.
We had any time dining. We had Appaya a few nights, she was very social and outgoing, in fact when we were seated in another section with a new waited she came over to say hi and as us about our day.
We didn't have much time for many shows or activities since we had to get up early for excursions and were exhausted by 10pm. But we did check out the aft pool and hot tubs for a late night dip before bed almost every night. The public areas and toilets were always very clean, the staff was constantly cleaning and were very friendly.
Debarkation was pretty long, we were zone 27 and had a few hours to kill. We had to be out of the room by 8:30 so we headed up to the lido for breakfast and to kill time. We were off the ship in 2 hours, around 11 and gathered our suitcases and waited in the customs line for almost another 2 hours. It took a very long time and was hot with everyone packed together. Finally, we were out and boarded the shuttle back to the airport at 12:30, giving us a few hours to catch our flight.
Overall, it was a good first experience, I think next time we will be more prepared both with knowing where everything is and have less excursions booked in order to spend more time on board exploring.

Getting to the Port of Miami was not a problem. My family drove down from NJ and I had to fly...Parking was directly across from the pier. Embarkation was ok. The kiosk was fast for us, however, for my in-laws who are elderly and did not know how this system worked, had a problem. I was able to get out of the line to assist them. Finding places to sit to await boarding was a little problem as people were all over the place. We finally found a place to sit and wait for our zone to be called. If you want your picture taken upon boarding, I would suggest that you comb your hair and fix your makeup before hand as you will not have a chance to even smile! We boarded and headed to the lunch buffet as you will not be able to get into your cabin until 1:30 or so.
We had a balcony this time around ..cabin 8381...and will never go back to an inside again! We hung a cardboard Easter Egg on the mailbox so that we could find our cabin (and the kids too) easily! We also decorated the balcony windows with Easter clings! Although, I would suggest getting a cabin that is not by the pantry as this is VERY noisy early in the morning. Also, there was some noise from the lido deck above us. The cabin had plenty of room for our family of 3. Our 16 y. o. had the bed (the couch converted into a bed) which was adequate. The balcony was very nice to have. However, we had a neighbor that smoked cigars and of course, the stench came over to us! Being asthmatic, this was very annoying. The bathroom was the same as the inside we had on the Glory. Adequate with some amenities. A few tips to bring for your trip: we did bring a power strip with us as we had cell phones, kindles and an electric razor to charge. I always bring Lysol and this time I did bring Clorox wipes as the norovirus (not on this cruise or the previous one) is something I don't wont to get on vacation! I make sure I wipe everything down! Bring extra hangers and or clothespins to hang up wet stuff on the pull out line in the shower. We also did bring our own beach towels for excursions. I brought cheap ones and laid them down on the bottom of the suitcase and then packed over them. Sunscreen and bug spray are a must! Sun visor or hat, too!
