This was my third voyage on the Constellation and she continued to please. In fact, I sailed on the new Silhouette in December 2011 but prefer the Constellation for warmth/ambience and easy of getting around. Arrived on the AutoTrain from Virginia the day prior to the cruise. Stayed at the Hyatt Place, Dania Beach. Package provided one night's stay, parking for two weeks and round-trip transfers. This is a very nice property with many cruisers and flight crews staying here. Do be aware that the shuttle to the pier stops at all ships; took 30 minutes for the return trip shuttle to arrive at the pier. I took the 10:00 a.m. shuttle from the hotel. Had to 'encourage' the porters to load my luggage onto the carts rather than letting them sit on the ground. I was concerned that my luggage would co-mingle with those disembarking. Only about 25 other passengers in front of me in line for screening. The waiting area was very well organized with the coordinator providing frequent and humorous updates as to when embarkation would begin, which it did promptly @ 11:30 a.m. Immediately went to the buffet and then strolled the decks to re-familiarize myself with the ship's layout. Cabin was ready at 1:30 p.m.; luggage arrived promptly. Had a balcony cabin forward of the glass elevators, portside. Requested an 'egg crate' foam pad for the bed. Hung a wreath on the door - my way of quickly locating my 'home' in the long line of cabins. Elite breakfast: meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, pastries and delicious speciality coffees, Bellini's and Mimosa's. Food in the buffet was good: breakfast was the same every day and I did a mix of the American and British selections. Lunch in the buffet had good variety from day to day. Enjoyed the sushi in the evenings as a pre-dinner snack. As a solo traveller, I prefer fixed-table dining and selected the 8:30 seating. Had a marvelous set of table mates: couples from Australia, Germany, California and Florida. We never lacked for interesting and spirited conversation. The main dining room's food was very good; I enjoy lamb which was offered several evenings. Was disappointed that escargot was not offered on the 'every day' side of the menu. While it was mentioned that the supplier was having issues with providing a sufficient supply, we guessed that this might be a cost-cutting measure (as was the lack of shrimp cocktail at the gala brunch). Entertainment was good to very good. Enjoyed two of the three production shows, had seen two of the speciality acts on the Silhouette which were worth repeating, enjoyed seeing Diane, the Welsh comedian/singer, again. Of course, as a Perry Grant fan, attended the majority of his 7:30 p.m. shows in Michaels Club and both appearances in the main theater. For newcomers to Perry, it can be a love or hate response. Everyone must see him at least once to know which pack you fall into. His loyal following is legendary and his talent is unique (he moves to the Eclipse in the late Fall I believe). At every activity (Captain's Club or Cruise Critic), it was mentioned that the Connie is the fleet-wide ship with the most repeat cruisers. Passengers love the ship itself (easy to navigate and Perry Grant)and the Southern Caribbean itinerary. Unfortunately, the 04/21/12 cruise, was the last time the Connie sailed the southern Caribbean run. When returning from Euroipe in the Fall, she will revert to four- and five-day cruises. What a shame for us fans, but it was explained that the Eclipse has 900 more beds and this itinerary always sells out. Question is: do passengers enjoy the Connie and Perry more than the itinerary? Time will tell. The Connie is showing a bit of rust and worn wood on railings; the wood planking at the pools needs refurbishment. However, the carpeting and furnishings are in very good condition. The dining room chairs are actually comfortable unlike those on the Silhouette (pillows were needed because the chairs were too deep and waiters had to move the chairs out of necessity rather than courtesy because they were so heavy/wide). Ports: Aruba, Curacao, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, Saint Martin and Saint Thomas. Aruba: beautiful beaches, town OK (lots of road construction), took a non-ship tour. Curacao: beautiful Dutch architecture, interesting movable bridge across the shipping lane; took a non-ship tour. Grenada: more authentic island experience downtown; took the ship's 'Land Rover' tour; had a very good guide who pulled all types of spice and fruits from trees and brought them to us; known for the spice market. St. Lucia: there on a Sunday so downtown Castries was closed; took a non-ship tour with COSOL; two small vans of ship's passengers; included island foods and a lot of rum punch, Pitons beer and white; swam at Jalousie resort between the Pitons. Barbados: national holiday so downtown Bridgetown was closed; took a non-ship taxi tour of this beautiful island ($15 pp). Antigua: another more authentic island experience downtown; have been here many times; just walked around town. St. Maarten: have been here many times; simply did the beach alongside the 'boardwalk'; purchased the lounge chair/umbrella/beer package. St. Thomas: ship's Jeep/beach tour was cancelled due to lack of participation; started out with overcast skies and deteriorated into torrential rain; shops emptied out as passengers (Connie and Allure) headed back to the ships. Booked Bermuda and New England/Canada on the Summit for 2013 out of Cape Liberty. Celebrity is my line of choice.

Members of our group flew independently to Ft. Lauderdale and most overnighted before the cruise at the Comfort Inn. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn near the airport. It was so-so with a nice sports bar restaurant but check-in and airport pick up were rather poor although the shuttle to the airport was timely and well organized. The vans pulled luggage trailers and each went to a different cruise ship which worked well. First cruise on Celebrity but as an RCCL Diamond we were accorded elite status which resulted in priority check in and baggage delivery. Also received some additional amenities because of our C2 (concierge balcony) booking such as a bottle of champagne, flowers, fruit, etc. No big deal but nice touches. Dining: Overall very good food and service in the dining room. Enjoyed the Tuscan Grill but had a less than premier experience in Ocean Liner dining room where the fillet was overcooked, the lobster chewy, and the chocolate souffle tasted like bland chocolate pudding. Would have been better off saving $80 and eating in the main dining room where the food was consistently good. We ate in the Sea View Cafe one night for dinner and found the selection to be minimal and the food very bland. Would not eat there again for dinner. This is in contrast to some pretty good meals in the equivalent casual cafes on several RCCL, Holland America, and Princess cruises. Entertainment: Enjoyed most of the shows and especially the production shows. Also enjoyed the bands in the Rendezvous Lounge and Reflections (Sky Club) where we danced most nights. Participated in a couple of dance contests and won one of them, which was a kick. Debarkation: Did the express walk off around 8 a.m. which was a bit of a hassle since we had to wait in line to debark and then had to wheel several bags from our state room all the way to the customs terminal. The upside was debarking early and not having to search for luggage. Overall I would rate this as my favorite of over 40 cruises, partly due to socializing with our group from back home, and largely due to the overall experience that Celebrity affords. To indicate how much I enjoyed the cruise, I booked two 15 day cruises on the Equinox and Reflection for 2013 and expect to enjoy them as well, particularly on the Solstice class ships.

We booked Cabin 9129, C3 level at an EXTREMELY excellent rate and we were not disappointed by the Constellation, ports of call, quality of our room, food quality, level or service......well, what can I say except that we have already booked a 2013 cruise on the Equinox (or second on that ship and our third cruise with Celebrity!). My partner and I live in Southern California, are in our mid to late 60's, enjoy traveling, good food combined with good service and so far Celebrity has consistently delivered! We were a little hesitant booking on the Constellation, due to her age and size, but no fear, she is a great ship! The Constellation reminded us of a Art Deco decor, reminiscent of the Queen Mary here in Long Beach, CA where we live. The warm wood tones, the understated colors and the general ambiance is VERY inviting, providing a very relaxing tone to our general experience the 15 fantastic days and nights on this ship. Our Cabin: Very spacious, clean, with plenty of storage, comfortable furniture-an excellent home away from home! Room Attendants: Extremely friendly, attentive and never intrusive. Our clean room, bedding and towel magically appeared when we returned. Whenever we requested something a little extra, it was graciously provided. We asked is we could have shrimp cocktails provided instead of the "usual" Hors D'oeuvres, extra wine glasses and Hors D'oeuvres for guests we were having in our cabin....never a problem! Food Quality: We had late dining at 8:30. Main dining room food quality was if we were eating at a fine restaurant in Los Angles with service to match. Our two waiters, Juan and Javier were just amazing! Always providing extra desserts, and any little extra we would ask for. I LOVE dessert and ice cream and Celebrity has never failed to provide a high quality and diversity of either! Premium Restaurants: We had three meals at the Oceans as I am very fond of French and Continental food. NEVER a disappointment! We reserved our first night there at $40/person and after telling our waiters at our Main Dining room what a wonderful time we had, they offered us a "special" of $20/person and took good advantage of the excellent price for two other nights! Loved the table side service with the only Flambe, open flame, service on the ship! I love Foie gras they served and after the first dinner there, they always served me a double portion! How could you NOT love that kind of service for THAT price! The waiters were as good as any we have had in Beverly Hills, but with no attitude! Dinner was not only prepared to perfection, but our waiters make it fun and relaxing. We always had the table for the evening and never rushed with our dinner. I only wish what the menu would have changed, but on the other hand, how can you not enjoy, lobster, filet, rack of lamb, venison, turbot, and sea scallops prepared tableside on a menu? Our last meal there, our waiter prepared Steak Diane, tableside for us, which was not on the menu! Buffett: There were two Grand Buffets served during our sailing and Celebrity never fails to deliver with the quality, diversity, beauty of presentation (the ice sculptures and the chocolate sculptures were wonderful!). I have been to only one other buffet sytle presentation that rivals Celebrity's and that is the Martinique in Oakbrook, Illinois. General Buffett: Overall, the food is of a better-than-average quality. I found the pizza to be exceptional as well as the diversity of desserts and ice creams to be EXCEPTIONAL. Some of the specialty areas such as the Panini's and sandwich stations to be very good as well! The hamburger/hotdog cafe poolside was very good. Sometimes you need to have a really good hamburger and the pool grill delivered! Entertainment: Very high quality of performers, musicians, and cabaret performances. "Discovered" Perry Grant and had many fun evening in Michaels. You either like him or not, but judging from the standing room only crowds for both of his performances each evening and range of ages of attendees, he does have a very strong following! Bar and Drinks: I find that Celebrity does not over-charge for drinks, which they easily can do with a "captured" ship clientele. My partner drinks Grey Goose Martini and the $10 charge for that at the Martini Bar is VERY reasonable! Can't get a GG Martini for that price at a home bar/restaurant! Waiter and bar staff most attentive and professional and were there to make sure you enjoyed yourself and you were made to feel special. Shore Excursions: We book only one shore excursion. Most of our excursions we booked ourselves online but the one that we book with the ship was an excellent value for the price. It was just a lot shorter excursion than what we would have received if we booked on-line, but the places that we visited and the transportation was first class! Officers: All were very attentive, always asking if we were having a god time and if there was anything they could do to make our stay even more enjoyable. Amazing Captain! Cruise Director Rich was always around the ship making sure everyone is enjoying their experience. Embarkation: Since we had an early flight, we self-embarked, with no delay either leaving the ship or going through customs. MUCH faster leaving the ship than coming on board! Overall Impressions: First of all the value for the dollar that we received for this trip was AMAZING! We booked this trip, with a C3 level room for $128/night/person AND $100 shipboard credit! I don't know what you can find that kind of value with the level of accommodations and service we receive with Celebrity! We were on the Celebrity for 15 days and there was only one meal/desert (being VERY picky and subjective, mind you!) that did not rise to the usual level of Celebrity quality and that was a Crepe Suzette we had in the main dining room that was too sweet for my taste. We have already book another Celebrity cruise, "11 Night Ultimate Caribbean Cruise" on the Equinox, March 4th, 2013. We are SERIOUSLY considering another Celebrity cruise, "15 Night Westbound Panama Canal Cruise" on the Century, February 4th, 2014. If our scheduling and budget will allow it, I am sure that Celebrity will again deliver an AMAZING experience for the two of us!

Experienced cruiser in early 30s traveling with my wife, mother-in-law, and parents. Got a pretty good deal on this 14 day itinerary compared to later 2012 14 night sailings on Eclipse. Cabin Went with inside cabins as balconies were 2x the cost and smaller than S-class, so we didn't see value in paying up. The cabin was small compared to industry standards, and it showed it's age despite being recently "updated." No room to enjoy room service, bathroom showed rust, and room was dusty. You could hear any noises coming from the hallway and above (ocean liners?) quite easily. Deck 2 aft location was terrific to avoid elevators on port days. One cabin in our party was laid out sideways instead and this had much more space than the other 2 insides. On the second-to-last day of the cruise, we had a pipe burst in the ceiling of our cabin, and water dripped heavily inside. We were in the room at the time and our steward had maintainance on the scene quickly. It put us out for 2 hours. We were told it was fixed, then it started again, and finally we asked to move our room. They found an empty oceanview cabin for us. That cabin was much larger with better air conditioning. We asked an officer to comp us dinner that evening in Tuscan Grill and that was not a problem. Luckily we were leaving the next day so we just packed our suitcases a day early and switched cabins. Public Rooms The work very hard to maintain the condition of the ship, but time does take it's toll. Chairs in the main dining room need to be replaced. Scratches and no arm rests compared to S-Class. The Casino smelled like the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas--gross, old, and musty. It still has coin operated slot machines. The fitness center was small and felt cramped. Throughout the ship the floors had bumps and divits, and we noticed toilet smells on lower decks the final 4 days. Probably a problem with the vacuum system. We noticed glasses, plates, and garbage placed on tables, floors, and furniture throughout the ship. I understand cruisers are to blame but when it's in plain sight, it shouldn't be visibly left for long periods of time, as we would see things on the way to dinner and still there on the way back etc. Food-MDR Menu had fewer daily appetizer and salad offerings than previous Celebrity sailings. We asked the Maitre'D about the Caprese Salad (our favorite) and she quickly offered to have it prepared special for us every night. Our waiter had trouble with English and building rapport with us (late seating). His assistant did most of the talking. Service was quick and accurate. Some nights, especially toward the end of the cruise, we had trouble finding entrees with acceptable quality. Costs are being cut left and right and it's obvious. We never went hungry but there is a noticable drop off. We also enjoyed 2 brunches (1 was Easter) in the MDR. Buffet The buffet never seemed to change for breakfasts. They ran out of English muffins half-way through the cruise. Some offerings were of low quality like the carved meats. Ice cream hand scooped is a Celebrity advantage over most other mainstream lines. They have a made-to-order steak/chicken/pork chop/salmon station for dinner in the aft section. Service was friendly but slow. Every order took 10 minutes, which I understand for "made-to-order." But with 10 people in line, just throw some steaks on the grill and worry about temperatures later just so you can get things started in anticipation of orders. A side note--not a day went by without me seeing at least 1 cruiser use their hands to directly grab some food out of a serving tray. Sometimes just a roll or bread, but please people don't use your hands!! Many of the food bins had spoons facing the workers so most buffet food was served to you. Specialty Dining I'm a picky eater and was worried about Ocean Liners having never tried Murano. They had a 50% off cover night so we decided to check it out for $20pp. It was THE BEST dinner I've ever had on a cruise. Over 3 hours in length, we went wild and had 4 appetizer/salads each, plus an amuse brush, intermezzo, entree, dessert, and cheese plate. 9 course of bliss. Simply fantastic!! Tuscan Grill was OK--just like on the S-Class ships. Service was fine here also. Not worth $30 if paying full price. We love the aqua spa cafe for lunches, but closing at 2:30pm we cut it very close coming back from ashore some days. They were very eager to close precisley at 2:30 to the point where they'd cut off the drink station power at 2:29 (a clock was directly above) and they couldn't wait to close their doors. Not very friendly. We enjoyed the desserts at Cafe al Bacio--these were usually better than those offered in the MDR. Service We love the little things that Celebrity still has intact, such as cold towels and water when returning from ashore. Announcements have started in the morning and afternoon--they would have been brief however we had many international guests aboard so they were repeated in several languages. Our room steward was fake-helpful. He would listen to your requests, but not fulfill them. Very simple--we like ice filled twice per day and want some wine glasses too. These were hard to come by consistently. Our Steward or his assistant literally spent 5 minutes each day cleaning our cabins. We could tell because we had adjoining rooms and sometimes he'd think we went to breakfast but instead we just went next-door. The cabins were small so he really just made the bed and put out new towels. We've had much better service in concierge class. Officers were very outgoing and friendly. We simply asked at Guest Relations about bridge tours, and got invites to both a bridge tour and a separate engine room tour. On Silhouette, Guest Relations wanted to charge me like $79 per person (not worth it though interesting). On the final port day they also had a sail away from the Heli-Pad which was very nice. Entertainment Comedian was good. Magician was old-school but enjoyable. Perry Grant was not our style. His selections were from way, waaaay back (think 1930s or earlier). He has a very loyal following, I'll give him that, and he is talented but just too over-the-top for me. We didn't see any of the production shows. We make our own fun drinking and playing games. These longer cruises attract a more subdued clientel. Ports I've been to the Caribbean so many times that they all seem similar and I have trouble remembering what we did each day. We do our own excursions to the beaches. Highlights include watching planes land at Maho Beach in St. Maarten, beautiful water and beaches in Grenada and Barbados, and my first visits to Aruba and Curacao. I liked how most islands had cabs for about $4 per person and beach chairs/umbrellas at similar low costs to what I've found in more developed islands like St Thomas and Puerto Rico. Value We paid about $1,000 per person total for 14 days, with free gratuities through Celebrity Passages. M-Class vs. S-Class My 3 prior Celebrity experiences were on Solstice, Equinox, and Silhouette. Those expecting S-Class style and new-ship condition will be disappointed with Constellation. There's a reason Celebrity is sending her to do short cruises from Miami later this year--her days in the prime lineup are over. There's no such thing as a bad cruise and Celebrity remains our line of choice.

Although we have cruised many times over the years, this was our first trip with Celebrity. We usually prefer the newer, mega cruise ships for the greater variety of amenities & entertainment, but the Constellation didn't disappoint. The not-so-small Constellation holds approximately 2,449 passengers & 941 crew. It entered service in May 2002. We had a short delay boarding due to Public Health Inspection. Later we learned that the ship scored a 99% rating, lowered only because of a cracked tile - quite impressive! There were a large number of Europeans onboard - many from Germany and the UK. Australia was also well represented as well as Canada & South America. Announcements were made in English, German, French, sometimes also Spanish. After the first day, the frequency of announcements lessened considerably. Question people as to why they cruise and most mention the food at the top of their list. Well, the food onboard was delicious. We always ate dinner in the main dining room, the elegant yet understated, San Marco Restaurant because the food was so wonderful. The 2-deck high windows at the rear of the restaurant and large side windows afford beautiful ocean views on both levels. A center ceiling of rose-colored glass casts a rosy glow over the entire restaurant. Tables are dressed in crisp white linens with either a small floral vase or a flickering tea light candle (battery-operated for safety.) The food has a French slant to it. The head chef is French. We had lobster on the last formal night. One of the reasons that we were so satisfied with the food was our waiter, Gede. We always asked to be seated at one of his tables. He received a Crewmember of the Month award for the previous month. He has been with Celebrity for 13 years. Every night he offered his informed recommendations with explanations. After a short time, he anticipated our requests. Attention is given to every diner, adult or child alike, by the entire wait staff. Tables were cleared and reset moments after being vacated. I can't say enough about how smoothly the dining room was run starting from the hostesses, Amy & Alexandra at the upper level entrance. The chefs also did a terrific job with presentation of the dishes. We enjoy choosing our own time to dine & hadn't cruised on Celebrity sooner since it only recently offered this option. We usually dined between 6-6:30 and we never encountered a line or a difficulty is getting a table where we wanted to sit. The buffets in the Seaside Cafe were quite extensive - the best I have had on any ship that I've cruised. English & American Breakfasts were available with a wide selection of items. Lunches include a German Corner and Mexican & Asian selections plus soups, salads, sandwiches and hot entrees/meats of every kind. We both enjoyed the best pizza we've ever had on any ship. I loved the wide variety of complementary sushi available nightly also. My husband enjoyed the evening stir fry. I especially appreciated the ice cream/frozen yogurt, sorbet and soft serve ice cream available. We often observed crew offering to carry trays for elderly passengers & bringing coffee refills or desserts to passengers. The great ratio of passengers to crew members made a big difference in service & it showed. I would be remiss if I didn't extol the extravagant Easter Brunch prepared for us complete with foil -wrapped large Chocolate Easter Bunnies & Eggs. It was a feast for the eyes. The same sumptuous brunch was repeated later in the cruise - don't miss it. I especially enjoyed photographing the large roasted pig, the ice sculptures and all the desserts. Everything was fabulous. For me, though, it is the itinerary that is most important. Most passengers that I spoke with said that the itinerary motivated them to choose this particular cruise. Although Port Canaveral is ten minutes away from where we live, we chose to drive 3 hours to Fort Lauderdale for this 14-night cruise to the Exotic Southern Caribbean. Our Ports of Call were Aruba, Curacao, Granada, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, St Maarten & St Thomas. We hadn't visited these islands in a long time, so we took shore excursions for most of them. Our Celebrity-run Shore Excursions were well-organized, high quality, very educational and fun. The costs varied from $24.75 on up depending on the activity & length. The guides all spoke English well and were very accommodating answering questions & stopping for photos. Drivers were all careful & polite. Although we could have saved money in each port booking tours directly with local guides, for peace of mind, we stayed with the ones offered by the cruise line & were quite satisfied. Our charming ocean view stateroom, #2129 was mid ship on Deck #2. It was a compact 170 square feet and had a large window, a sitting area with a glass table & small sofa, mini bar, safe and a 20" flat screen interactive TV. Even though we brought plenty of clothes, we found lots of cabinet, drawer and closet space for all our belongings. The entire deck was very quiet even though our room was close to the glass elevators. The only noise we heard inside was a distant hum cycling on & off when we were in open seas that we thought might be the stabilizers in operation. All the passageways to the staterooms are cheerfully painted in light beige and salmon colors and the walls are adorned with wall hangings. I thought that these areas were the nicest of all the previous ships that I sailed. Our room steward, Saturnino was quite attentive to our needs & stopped by on the first day to introduce himself. He stopped by again a few days later to ask if we needed anything - only more ice, please. One evening we retired early after a long day sightseeing & he checked in to make sure that we were OK. All the staff & entertainers greeted us pleasantly whenever we passed them. The Senior Officers were visibly present especially at night. One particular officer, Kim from Human Resources chatted with us several times and called us by name whenever she saw us. Everyone on staff made you feel like a celebrity. They all seemed to love their jobs. Rich Clesen, our energetic Cruise Director was everywhere around the ship especially in/outside the theater and onshore at Ports of Call. He was very approachable & funny. We tried to beat him out of the theater each night but never could. Did he have a twin onboard., we wondered? No, but he must run fast - all the way from the theater's stage. The public areas including restrooms are always spotless and constantly cleaned. Hand sanitizers are located at all restaurants as well as at the theater and the casino. The Front Desk even has a supply of Handi-wipes to use in port - great idea! I loved the new Martini Bar with its sleek ice-topped bar where I inscribed our names in the ice one night. The bartenders are friendly and entertaining. The martinis, by the way, are delicious. The neat glass elevators with ocean views were fun to ride and we used them regularly. We also enjoyed the cantilevered areas in the Seaside Cafe. Look down below through the unusual round glass windows in the floor and watch the ocean passing by. Finding the cozy 2-deck library was a joy for me. The Fortunes Casino was the place to be in the evening. The magnificent Grand Foyer with its imposing marble staircase was striking. The whirlpools on board differed in temperature. The two outdoor pools were a little cool for me to stay in too long. We loved going to the Solarium where quiet music played. Using the warm salt water Thalassotherapy indoor pool there was delightful. Since I don't enjoy sitting in the sun, we came here often. We always found 2 comfortable, cushioned lounge chairs together each day. The Celebrity Theater wass comfortable and beautiful. Besides the three wonderful production numbers, Celebrate the World being the best in my opinion, we were entertained by: aerialists Lixandra and Ilya, a husband & wife team, David Meyer & his one-of-a-kind musical instrument, resident entertainer Perry Grant, vocalist/piano player, John Bressler, magician, Nick Lewin, a capella quartet Blend Tech, former cop/comedian, Kevin Jordan, Greg Bonham an Aussie singer & trumpet player and Diane Cousins, a funny comedian/singer who can really belt out songs with her powerful voice. All the performers were very entertaining & I attended almost every show. There was a wide variety of live entertainment around the ship, as well. When leaving the dining room each night, hearing classical music played by the Arabesque Trio was so soothing. We stopped each night to listen. I enjoyed the live island music played daily poolside by Flava whenever we could find a lounge chair in a shady location. My husband's favorite was the Blend Tech Quartet that mainly performed in the Grand Foyer. We also enjoyed listening & dancing to the Carousel Party Band in the Rendez-Vous Lounge. Many past guests are big fans of the outrageous Perry Grant - he has quite a following. But whether you enjoy him or not, you have to admit that he loves what he does and puts his heart & soul into his shows. He performs many nights in Michael's Club, a cozy piano bar room. Terry Dodson performing in the Sunset Bar was a great favorite of ours, also. Sometimes it is the small things that really make a difference. Being greeted with champagne as we came onboard on embarkation day was a portend of good things to come. The terrific Galley tour was also preceded by champagne - how elegant! We were pleasantly surprised to find a complementary tote bag in our room as well as two robes to wear onboard & an umbrella to use in ports. I appreciated that EVERY night there were two show times (7 & 9 PM) - so convenient. The Captain's Welcome Aboard Toast was a nice touch. Handing menus to and taking dinner request from the ladies first was appreciated. The dining room staff calling us by name was expected but asking us first what we wanted to be called was even nicer. Finding white quilted cotton placemats on the plastic trays at the Seaside Cafe buffets were a nice touch, also. Being able to get news & sports scores back home via the very accessible The USA Times was neat. My husband enjoyed doing the daily Crossword Puzzle & SUDOKO. Foreign language issues were also available. Having the "Pool Butlers" hand us iced hand towels in the Solarium and onshore after a sweaty day of sightseeing was so refreshing. Using cloth towels in public restrooms was luxurious. The cruise line asked us what time we wanted to disembark the ship and we got the exact time that we requested. I check with a few of the children & their parents onboard and they were quite happy with the Kid's Programs. One day we watched them parading with their hand puppets. They were all kept active with Basketball Shoot Outs, Dodgeball, Hula Contests, Relay Races, Jumping Contests, Scavenger Hunts & Egg Hunts. They were also creatively involved in Drawing Contests, Rainstick Craft, Talent Shows, Torch Making, Sand Art Bottles & Lego Challenges. There were ice cream & dinner parties too. I had only minor complaints. I mainly wished that the Celebrity Dancers & Singers had performed on stage in the Celebrity Theater more than the three times that they did. The dancers did perform Cabaret style in Reflections starting between 10-10:45 some nights but that was too late for us after tiring sightseeing & early next day excursions. I did manage to watch replays on TV. Also it was a tight squeeze with two people trying to access the closet, safe & bathroom in the narrow stateroom entrance. We found this on almost every ship. The Constellation is also beginning to show wear. She is due for renovations next year. The small furniture nicks & scratches do not detract from her beauty, though. She is well loved by all who sail on her. I heard that they will be adding a few more staterooms - that's good news. Will we be back on Celebrity again - you bet! We placed a deposit for a future trip. If you like something other than one big party scene with lots of drinking & loud music, consider the Constellation especially if you are over 40. You will especially enjoy the fine food, excellent service and great entertainment. See you onboard.
