The Costa Fortuna is one of the Jewels of the Costa Cruises fleet, combining the elegance of Italian steam-era cruising with the facilities and service you’d expect from a 21st century cruise ship.
The Costa Fortuna is steeped in history and indisputably proud of its heritage: beautiful scale models of every Costa ship from the original Anna C. (1948) up to the Costa Fortuna herself adorn the central atrium. The decor throughout has a touch of old world class too, with gleaming brass, wood polished to a glossy finish and – of course – attentive staff in gleaming white uniforms ready to help at every turn.
So what’s she like to sail on?
Well, if you’ve ever spent a cruise holiday on one of Carnival’s Destiny class ships (such as the Triumph or Victory) the Costa Fortuna will be familiar but new. With the same basic design as the Destiny Class but an entirely different approach to fittings, layout and general feel the ship combines a tried and tested formula with a distinct and enthralling touches that are pure Costa Fortuna.
She’s a spacious vessel, most definitely in the modern “super cruiser” model. As long as three football fields from bow to stern with a 118 foot beam and 13 passenger decks full of fun, relaxation and all the best cruising has to offer. You’ll never be short of somewhere to go or something to do on the Costa Fortuna, and it’ll be a rare cruise holiday maker who manages to see everything she has to offer in a single trip.
A particular strong point of the Costa Fortuna is the food, an important part of any cruise. Costa have a reputation for excellence in this area, and the Fortuna is no exception. Half a dozen restaurants ranging from informal dining to the grandeur of the Raffaello Restaurant await, so tasty, well prepared and healthy options are always available.
Of course the Costa Fortuna also has the “usual” range of spas, bars, salons and shows so you’ll never be hungry for entertainment either, but the single feature most of our customers rave about is the breathtaking Lido deck: a paradise for the youngsters (or young at heart), the pool facilities are probably the feature that most sets the Costa Fortuna apart as a world-class family oriented cruise ship.
