China is the largest country in East Asia and with so much to see over such a vast area.
China cruises can be a great way in which to explore the diverse land.
China cruises offer holidaymakers the chance to visit Beijing and the awe inspiring Forbidden City, the home of the great emperors. Explore the bustling streets which are comprised of a mixture of traditional alleyways and modern avenues, temples, cafes, palaces and shops.
While in Beijing, which will host the 2008 Olympic Games, shore excursions could include visiting Ming Tombs and the Great Wall of China or guided tours of Tiananmen Square.
Temperatures in this region of China can move between lows of seven degrees Celsius and highs of 17 degrees Celsius, with an average climate of 12 degrees Celsius.
In Shanghai, those on Chinese cruises will sample a modern and cosmopolitan taste of the east. From the collection of international banks along The Bund to the peaceful Yu Gardens, there is much to be explored in this spectacular port city.
Onshore visit the Shanghai Museum which offers a fascinating insight into Chinese history, art and culture, or watch a Chinese acrobat performance. Enjoy tea at the Yu Garden before visiting the Temple of the Jade Buddha.
Shanghai lies at the mouth of the Yangtze River, a powerful force of water that is home to famous dams such as the Three Gorges.
The Yangtze River is the longest of its kind in Asia and China cruises travelling along it can call in at Badong, an ancient town to the east of the Daba Mountains.
This town offers amazing views of the surrounding areas and holidaymakers can try the local tea and liquor before taking a trip down the Daning River.
