Naming a new ship is always a challenge, with a wide selection from their past fleet to choose from! However, this time they sought a name not only in keeping with her fleet-mates, but reflecting the stately nature of their most substantial vessel yet.

Although slightly larger than their existing ships, Balmoral will still be compact enough to offer that traditional, homely atmosphere which is so much their trademark.

Balmoral Public Areas

Balmoral will offer her passengers an impressive range of dining choices from the inviting elegance of the yet-to-be-named main Restaurant to the convenience and informality of the Yacht Club Café, or a snack in the sun at the Marquee Grill Bar.

Their public rooms will include quiet spaces in which to savour the delights of lazy days at sea - they don't believe in wall-to-wall music, but in your right to choose between entertainment, education or relaxation; all of which you will find in abundance in the Neptune Lounge, Observatory Lounge, Lido Bar, Library, Card Room or at the Spa and Gym.

Casino

Try and beat their experienced Croupiers at the Casino; you can even learn how to play better in daytime sessions.

Lido Bar

The Lido Bar looks out over the aft pool and the stern of the ship and is the ideal spot to dance the night away with the on board pianist or musical duo. Their bar staff are always on hand to serve a whole array of exotic cocktails, beers, spirits or something refreshing and non-alcoholic.

Lido Lounge

The Lido Lounge also plays host to a variety of shows, and dancing to the house band; and the casino is tucked away in the corner for those who want to try their hand at roulette or blackjack.

Morning Light Pub

The Morning Light Pub will be decorated in a traditional style and depict the century and a half history of Fred. Olsen. Sample guest beers and real ale, and be entertained by occasional live jazz musicians or stand-up comedians.

Neptune Lounge

Take your seat in the Neptune Lounge as the sun goes down and experience the music, dancing, lights and costumes. Choose to enjoy a cabaret act, stand-up comedian, or dance the night away to a live band.

Observatory Lounge

The large windows in The Observatory afford fantastic views which are enhanced with plenty of binoculars spaced around the lounge. A grand piano provides the perfect background music as you enjoy a pre-dinner drink or you can dance into the small hours upon the glass dancefloor.

Avon Restaurant

Although offering the same menu as her sister restaurant, the Spey, the intimate nature of the Avon restaurant gives her a unique dining atmosphere.

Ballindalloch Restaurant

The stylish Ballindalloch restaurant is the main restaurant on Balmoral, where your taste buds will be tempted by the fantastic dishes on offer. Whether it’s a formal night or one of their special theme nights you will be assured of a wonderful atmosphere as you enjoy your meal.

Palms Cafe

This restaurant is self-service, but the standard is as good as in the main restaurants. This is a little less formal if you wish to just pop along whenever you feel hungry, rather than waiting for the set dining times.

Beauty Salon

Atlantis Salon's qualified therapists can offer a variety of treatments, including hairdressing, manicures and pedicures. Make sure to book your appointments in good time for formal nights to avoid disappointment!

Braemar Lounge

This light and airy lounge is perfect for watching the world go by, or for meeting up with new found friends just before dinner. A trio of string players play here on some cruises.

Card Room

Maybe a game of bridge with some friends, or one of the many board games available? The Card Room is the perfect setting with plenty of card tables and comfortable chairs.
