Aurora Andersons

You will find Anderson’s on Promenade Deck. Traditional sofas, winged armchairs, bookcases and panelled walls create a very British ambience and the feel of an exclusive country club. Welcoming and elegant and ideally located next to the Curzon Theatre, its refined setting is perfect for a pre-show drink or a warming nightcap. The bar is named after Arthur Anderson, the founder of P&O, who is said to have had an amazing attention to detail. So they certainly believe he would have approved of the long bar, the ornate fireplace and the traditional artworks.

Café Bordeaux

Open 24 hours a day and based on a French-style bistro, Café Bordeaux presents an alluring option any time of the day or night. Situated on the deck above Champion’s Sports Bar, the café is easy to find and close to the ship’s other public rooms. Taking its cues from Aurora’s travels, this venue is cosmopolitan in style. Vibrant prints adorn the walls. French cuisine, as well as food from around the world, tempts you around the clock. Café Bordeaux is a ‘Select Dining’ restaurant offering a more informal alternative to ‘Club Dining’, which is found in the main restaurants, Alexandria and Medina.

Nestled between the Monte Carlo Casino and Carmen’s show lounge, on Promenade Deck, is Champions sports bar. With a modern look and high-tech feel, the bar is full of memorabilia from great sporting moments. You can watch major sporting events, both live and recorded, on large TV screens, and enjoy a beer and a chat with other sports-minded passengers. And if you find it hard to pull yourself away from the latest cup final or the match of the decade at meal times, simply take the connecting circular stairway up to Café Bordeaux to join the rest of your party. Charlie’s is midships on the port side of Promenade Deck, just off Mayfair Court. THE place to be seen on Aurora, Charlie’s offers a cool place to relax. An elegant baby grand sets the mood in this stylish champagne bar, as tiny rock-crystal lenses on the ceiling create a glittering starry effect – the perfect compliment the champagne sparkling in your glass. On a typical 14-night cruise aboard Aurora, 650 bottles of champagne are consumed and you can be sure a large percentage of these are enjoyed in Charlie’s.

The Crow’s Nest

High up on Sun Deck at the forward end of the ship you will find The Crow’s Nest. At 105 feet above the waterline, this stylish cocktail bar is higher than the bridge and affords the ship’s most amazing views. By day you can watch the glistening sea as the world floats by in this comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. But as evening draws in The Crow’s Nest comes into its own; with a light tickling of the ivories to set the mood, there’s no better vantage point from which to enjoy a dramatic sunset at sea.

Midships on Promenade Deck lies Masquerade – the glitziest nightclub afloat. Very chic and ultra-modern, this is the place for late night action. The futuristic décor and video wall create a backdrop for a fast paced evening. Add the most up-to-date tunes and the latest high-tech sound equipment, with an unbelievable lighting system and you can be assured of a fantastic evening experience. It’s very current, very exciting and simply very brilliant.

Pennant Bar

Located at the stern, high on Lido Deck, the Pennant Bar adds a taste of the tropics to Aurora. This outdoor island bar over looks the ships fabulous tiered decks and is the centre of many lunchtime activities, including themed lunches like the much loved and anticipated Neptune’s Buffet. In the evening it is the perfect location to watch the ship’s wake as it stretches out and winds its way into the sunset.

Raffles Bar, situated on D Deck, overlooks Mayfair Court and Piccadilly Court on the deck below. The name Raffles is synonymous with sophistication and elegance and the rich wood panelling, marble flooring and luxurious leather padded bar exudes the grandeur and refinement of its namesake. As well as an array of tempting liqueurs, you can sample the most delicious handmade chocolates and specialist coffees throughout the day and into the evening.

Incorporating Raffles Bar on D Deck and wrapping around the top deck of the four-deck atrium, is Raffles Court. A wonderful area to meet up with new friends for a mid-afternoon break or after dinner drink, the court offers lovely views of the atrium and its 35 foot centre-piece sculpture. Comfortable sofas and chairs, in conjunction with soft lighting, create a relaxing ambience. Raffles Court also offers access to Vanderbilt’s card room and the Library.

Riviera Bar

The Riviera Bar is nestled between the multiple terraces that surround the Riviera Pool, on Lido Deck. A full-service, outdoor bar with a roof covering, it’s an excellent place to escape the sun with a refreshing cocktail. One deck up from the Riviera Pool it also offers a good vantage point of the entire pool area.

Sidewalk Café

Located on Lido deck, conveniently between the Riviera and Crystal pools, the Sidewalk Café is in a great position. When you don’t feel like dragging yourself away from the pool and getting dressed for lunch, you can pop in for a light snack from late morning until early evening. The children will appreciate the fast-food feel of the Sidewalk Café and with pizzas, burgers, salads and open sandwiches on the menu they will love the food! This casual eatery offers spectacular sea views from its high vantage point on the Lido Deck.

Carmen’s show lounge, at the stern of the ship on Promenade Deck, is a real entertainment hub. Offering excellent views of the large rectangular stage from anywhere in the room, you can enjoy an evening of comedy here or take in a sophisticated cabaret. The shows are fantastic! Filled with soft comfortable furnishings and decorated in traditional colours with contemporary light wood, Carmen’s creates an intimate and inviting feel; a place where you can really relax and enjoy the entertainment. The full service bar will create your favourite concoction, and when the show is over you can dance the night away on the spectacular large inlaid-wooden dance floor.

Curzon Theatre

The 660-seat Curzon Theatre is located in the forward part of the ship on Promenade Deck. A traditional theatre colour scheme of rich red, blue, gold and maroon, combined with Tudor rose motifs and heraldic designs, was used to bring something of the atmosphere of Shakespeare’s England onto a world-class superliner. Yet the theatre has all the very latest technical advantages. With its high-tech lighting and sound equipment and its revolving, 74-feet-wide stage, every performance has a West End glitter and the performers love this theatre as much as you will. And with a different musical spectacular every night, you are sure to be there time and time again.

The Playhouse

The Playhouse, is located midships on D Deck, next to the Photo Gallery. This fantastic cinema screens feature films and recent releases throughout the day and into the evening. You can watch films that are so new, that they haven’t yet reached your local cinema at home. There are 213 spacious and comfortable chairs and good visibility for everyone. In addition to films, The Playhouse is also the venue for classical recitals, lectures, port enhancement talks, and much more.

Just aft of midships on Promenade Deck is the Monte Carlo Club Casino, Aurora’s very own slice of sophisticated glamour from the Riviera. The Monte Carlo Club is the perfect place for roulette, blackjack and poker, and there is a good variety of slot machines for you to play. Stop by and find out if Lady Luck is with you!

Crystal Pool

Aurora Crystal Pool

Midships on Lido Deck is the Aurora’s largest swimming pool, the Crystal Pool. One of its most striking features is the sliding, clear glass Skydome, which allows swimming in any weather. It keeps out the chilly breezes and lets in the warm sunshine. The Crystal Pool is over 32 feet long and 19 feet wide and has two adjoining jacuzzis, as well as a conveniently located bar. There are plenty of lounge chairs around the deck of the pool on two levels, as the Sun Deck above also overlooks the pool.

Golf Simulator

On the stern end of Sun Deck, just aft of the golf nets and sports court, you’ll find the Golf Simulator. Prepare for the ultimate indoor golf experience, where you can play a round on some of the world’s greatest golf courses, including the Belfry, St. Andrews, Valderrama and Bay Hill in Florida. With 30 courses to choose from you can challenge your friends or join in the tournaments that are held on board. Using the latest in virtual reality it is the next best thing to being there.

Riviera Pool

Located on A Deck and cleverly sheltered from the wind by the Lido and Sun Decks, you’ll find the Riviera Pool. At 29 feet long and 19 feet wide, it’s the second largest pool on Aurora. The overflow from the pool forms a gentle waterfall, which runs down to the next level, where a tempting jacuzzi waits. The full-service Riviera Bar is conveniently close and overlooks the entire pool area, and sun worshippers will enjoy the three terraces full of deck chairs that surround the pool.

Terrace Pool

The Terrace Pool is situated at the stern of D Deck. Normally reserved for families and surrounded by children’s rooms, Aurora’s third pool was designed with safety in mind. The pool is supervised and little children can’t open the surrounding gates. There’s a paddling pool for the small children and a jacuzzi and bar for the ‘big children’ and a lot of deck space and lounge chairs.

Midships and just forward of the Riviera Pool on A Deck is Weights & Measures, Aurora’s Gym. This hi-tech facility offers a superb range of the latest cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, as well as a full exercise studio. A trained and sympathetic instructor will help you find the correct fitness programme for your age and capability and will check that you are exercising safely and effectively. After a rigorous session in the gym, you can take the spiral staircase up to the Oasis Spa on the Lido Deck above and enjoy a relaxing massage or sauna.

At the stern end of Sun Deck, the Sports Court is adjacent to the golf nets and just forward of the Golf Simulator. Whether you enjoy the friendly competition of an organised tournament or prefer to play casually with your own party, short tennis, football, cricket and basketball are just some of the options available in Aurora’s Sports Court.

Promenade Deck

Located between D Deck and E Deck, Promenade Deck wraps around the entire ship. Constructed from a renewable source of teak, this hardwearing timber has a lovely aromatic fragrance, which is detectable on damp mornings. Three and a half laps around the deck is equivalent to one mile, so it’s a great place for a morning walk to get the blood moving. At night it’s the perfect setting for a romantic moonlit stroll under the twinkling stars.

Situated off Piccadilly Court on E Deck, just off the Atrium, is the Emporium. This is Aurora’s version of a corner shop, where you can buy everything from sweets and chocolates, to books, suntan lotions and batteries. It’s the little shop that has everything!

Mayfair

Located on Promenade Deck, just forward of the central lifts and next to Charlie’s is Mayfair. This elegant boutique provides the most recent fashions in men’s and ladies’ formal wear, sparkling designer jewellery, and the biggest names in perfumes and cosmetics. Friendly shop assistants will ensure that you are dressed to the nines, with all the necessary accessories and wearing your favourite scent. You are on holiday, go ahead and spoil yourself!

Piccadilly

Situated on E Deck, just forward of the central lifts and off Piccadilly Court, is Piccadilly. Offering men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, a range of branded items made specifically for Aurora, a good selection of gifts and children's games and toys, Piccadilly is the perfect place to pick up souvenirs of your cruise and presents to take home.

The Children’s Play Area is conveniently placed on the port side of D Deck at the stern, next to the Terrace Pool and the Paddling Pool. This outdoor area is the perfect place for small children to play; it’s secure, has a roof, and the deck is covered in a non-slip material. There’s also access to the Paddling Pool. You’re little ones will love the colourful rocking horses, tractors, slides and other toys, and you will love the area’s close proximity to the family orientated Terrace Pool.

Decibels

Aurora Decibels

Decibels is situated close to the stern of D Deck, just forward of the Terrace Pool, on the starboard side. This area for older teenagers (13-17) has a very high-tech look with lots of stainless steel, multi-coloured lighting, a video wall, a good-sized dance floor and a bar that serves soft drinks and alcohol-free cocktails. By day it’s a great place to ‘chill-out’ with music, videos, games, computers or Playstations and interactive arcade machines. In the evening it’s a trendy teen disco with a fantastic sound system and dedicated club DJ. It’s a great place for your kids to meet new friends their own age and Decibels will keep them occupied and entertained for hours on end.

Intergalactica

Just forward of Decibels on the starboard side of D Deck, is Intergalactica. This interactive games centre allows children to try their hand at games based on the wizardry of computer technology. With a good selection of the latest arcade games, they can challenge their fellow passengers in an area reminiscent of an intergalactic space station.

Jumping Jacks

Jumping Jacks is located close to the stern of D Deck, just forward of the Terrace Pool. For children from 5 to 8 year old, colourful Jumping Jacks is fun and games all day long! As well as computers, Playstations, videos, games, an indoor climbing frame and a ball pen, there are arts and crafts, face painting activities and dressing up theme days, such as ‘Mad Hatters’, ‘Fairground’ and ‘Circus’. And to ensure that parents will love Jumping Jacks too, they hold ‘slumber parties’ between 10.30pm and 2am so mum and dad can relax and enjoy in Aurora’s scintillating evening entertainment.

Night Nursery

Situated between Toybox and Jumping Jacks, just forward of the Terrace Pool on D Deck, is the Night Nursery. Even the fondest of parents appreciate some time alone in the evening and a special Night Nursery babysitting facility is there to assist. From 6pm to 2am, for children up to 5, they offer a supervised service. Simply settle your little ones down before 11pm and the Youth Crew will do the rest. Knowing your children are tucked away safely in bed, you are free to enjoy the nightly array of dazzling entertainment on board Aurora.

Toybox

Just forward of the Terrace Pool on the port side of D Deck, is Toybox. Your 2-4 year olds can get involved in imaginative play, singing, colouring and drawing and loads of fun and games. Toybox is equipped with large cushioned balls and cubes as well as toys, books, computers and games. There are large padded areas for comfort and fun and even a place to snuggle down with a favourite movie. Toybox will keep your little ones amused for hours.

Quarterdeck

Just aft of Café Bordeaux on D Deck, on the starboard side, you’ll find Quarterdeck, the tweens club. These-up to-date facilities are very child-friendly and tailored to children aged 9 to 12. There’s a jukebox, computers and Playstations and a video area showing a range of popular films. Activities include game shows, board games, quizzes, scavenger hunts and drama workshops. In the evenings your Tweens can attend the children’s discos and dance to the latest chart tracks, or just hang out and meet new friends.

Situated midships on Lido Deck, between the Crystal and Riviera Pools, is the Oasis Health and Beauty Spa. The theme of Oasis is botanical and the aim is refreshment, relaxation and rejuvenation. You can enjoy a warming and cleansing visit to the sauna and steam rooms. Or opt for the very latest in facials, manicures, pedicures, aromatherapy or massages, in one of the luxurious treatment rooms, each with a fantastic ocean view. Visit the hair salon to have your hair styled for the evening, to try a new colour or even a totally new look created by experienced stylists. The Oasis Spa is all about pampering and indulging yourself.

At the forward end of Sun Deck, just aft of the Crow’s Nest on the port side, you’ll find the cyb@study. Equipped with the latest technology their cyb@study is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends back home. You can check your e-mail, surf the net or research your next port of call. And if you don’t know your megabytes from your mouse, you can enrol in one of their classes and be surfing the ‘net’ in no time. Their expert instructors are very experienced and patient and offer excellent tuition in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Located on E Deck, next to the Atrium in Piccadilly Court, is Explorers, the tour desk. Here you can book your shore excursions, get information on the ports Aurora visits and receive general advice about what not to miss and what to avoid when you go ashore.

The Photo Gallery is conveniently placed on the port side of D Deck, midships, and can be accessed from the midships lifts. You can view the photos that their team of on board professional photographers captures and take home high quality mementoes of your holiday. The Photo Gallery can also develop your film or download your images and print your photos right on board. And you can buy other photographic supplies there including film, photo frames and albums.

Located at the stern of the ship on E Deck, the Alexandria Restaurant is one of two main dining rooms on Aurora. As the name of the restaurant suggests, its sumptuous décor draws inspiration from the culture, colours and shapes of ancient Egypt. Club Dining here is all about enjoying the convivial atmosphere and the company of your table companions. Entering through the glass etched double doors you are greeted by an elegant and welcoming dining room. Large windows frame views of the ship’s wake and a glistening ocean. Carefully crafted dishes are brought to your table. And world-class cuisine rounds off a dining experience to be savoured in every sense.

Medina Restaurant

Positioned midships on E Deck, Medina Restaurant is one of two great formal dining rooms on Aurora. Reflecting P&O Cruises traditional connections with North Africa and the Middle East, Medina was designed in a Moorish style, utilising brilliant colours and shapes from ages gone by to create a sophisticated look for today’s modern passenger. Make your grand entrance for dinner on the featured double stairway, with its stunning backdrop of vibrantly coloured stained glass, as it sweeps down into the restaurant from the Promenade Deck. Seating over 500 people, you can find a romantic table for two or a party table for eight. With large windows on either side you’ll enjoy the magnificent views both day and night, as you dine on the Medina’s superb cuisine.

The Orangery

The Orangery, an informal self-service restaurant, is located in the aft section of Lido Deck with easy access to the surrounding decks and facilities. This large eatery opens early and provides full English breakfasts, extensive buffets for lunch and afternoon tea. With walls covered in vibrant modern murals, this colourful, light and airy room has a casual atmosphere, and at 80 feet above the water line, The Orangery affords spectacular sea views. In the evening, softer lighting and the opening of a dance floor transform The Orangery into the perfect venue for a themed dinner.

Aurora Art Gallery

Aurora houses a substantial art collection. Showcasing numerous British artists, her artworks adorn cabins, decks and public spaces. But if you would like to purchase a piece of your own, her art gallery is the place to come. Located on Promenade Deck, you can peruse numerous paintings, prints and memorabilia of varying styles. Later, head along to the Art Auction to bid for your favourite piece. Or to simply enjoy the excitement of the gavel coming down on piece after piece. Their art auctioneers will be on hand throughout your cruise to host the art auctions and offer you their expertise.

Library

The Library is positioned on the starboard side of D Deck, midships, just next to Raffles Bar. You are guaranteed to find some peace and quiet in their tranquil Library for reading and writing. Whether you bring your own, or select a book from their well-stocked selection of fiction and non-fiction, you can curl up with a good book in a soft comfortable chair. You can also surf the ‘net’ in the cyb@study section of the Library.

Uganda Room

At the forward end of Sun Deck, just aft of the Crow’s Nest on the starboard side, you’ll find the Uganda Room. This private party room is elegantly decorated with wood panelling and floor-to-ceiling windows, and is furnished with comfortable seating and tables. It’s the perfect venue to host your own special occasion, whether it be a birthday, anniversary or just a get together with newly met friends. They can also arrange for a selection of canapés and drinks for you, as well as a dedicated steward to serve your guests.

Vanderbilt’s

Vanderbilt’s is located on the starboard side of D Deck, midships, adjacent to Raffles Bar. If bridge is your forte you will enjoy the tournaments held here, or stop by for one of the competitive evening syndicate quizzes.

Dominated by John Mill’s 35 foot sculpture, Aurora’s Atrium is in a classic galleried style and spans four decks. Reminiscent in style of the hugely influential artist René Lalique, the work provides an impressive backdrop to the stylish double main staircase. A veil of water surrounds the two mythical figures cast in resin. From this central hub and just a few steps away you’ll find the shore excursions desk, Reception and Aurora’s shops - Emporium, Piccadilly and Mayfair.
