The Celebration is having a makeover and has new carpets in many of the public areas. Some of the cabins on the lower decks were also being refurbished with double beds being installed and the old TVs were in the corridors. We were on deck 4 and there was occasionally a slight smell of thixofix which didn't bother us in the slightest.
We took all our meals in the Lido as the informality suits us best, and a lovely waiter called Benny looked after us really well, he watched out for us and put iced water on our table, carried our tray, and served us coffee as soon as we wanted it. Our cabin steward, Yussuf, was also great, although we could do without having our beds turned down in the evenings. It does make you reluctant to go back to your cabin until he has been. Although the bathroom is slightly Dated it was always immaculately clean and we had no complaints about it at all. We felt that a chair that tucked under the desk in order to give more space would be good. Otherwise the cabin was excellent.
All in all the we couldn't fault the ship in any way and we visited Jerusalem (our main reason for choosing this cruise) and the Dead Sea, we traversed the Suez Canal, a fantastic experience, and we also visited El Alamein, Cyprus; Alanya, Fethiye and Marmaris in Turkey; and Crete and Rhodes.
All in all a fabulous cruise just like Red Sea Magic on the Spirit last year, and we can't wait to go on another Thomson cruise.
